For the cheapskate tourist, I highly recommend the glass elevators at the Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Stunning free views of the city and a terrifyingly fun elevator ride to boot. Also the hotel itself is marvel of creepy post-modern mall-meets-hotel architecture. Win-win-win.

Nobody gets between Angelenos and their love love hate relationship with their cars.
I made myself a new desktop background with an adorable picture of my little sister in Hawaii. Perfect for brightening the impending finals week stress!
Spent Saturday in downtown LA hanging out with llamas at Olvera, ogling the Million Dollar Theater’s facade, and munching on fries at the Pantry Cafe.
Made with watercolor, ink, and my ticket to the Florence airport.
Just a little mashup of my places. Clockwise from top right: Florence’s Duomo, cyprus trees & wheat fields, Balch Hall at Scripps College, LA skyline with a smattering of palm trees, Montana state capitol dome, Mount Helena. They are all a little bit my home now.
Just thinking about my Roman holiday.
Voting is a glamorous part of democracy and I absolutely love it (hey, you get stickers AND citizen points) but I was quite nervous for my first presidential election since I was voting absentee. Navigating Post Italia was no small task, but I managed to get my ballot back to America in the nick of time! Phew!
