I’m working on improving my After Effects skills! Take a look at my first attempt at using the fancy Rotobrush tool. For other newbs, Rotobrush allows you to seperate elements of the foreground from the background of a video. It’s quite popular for opening credits – e.g. the stunning beginning of Life of Pi.
For the cheapskate tourist, I highly recommend the glass elevators at the Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Stunning free views of the city and a terrifyingly fun elevator ride to boot. Also the hotel itself is marvel of creepy post-modern mall-meets-hotel architecture. Win-win-win.

My library was giving away books to chop up (don’t eat me book lovers) so I grabbed a stellar seventies German book on the cult of Dionysus and proceeded to watercolor all over it. 
The gleaming Walt Disney Concert hall gets its dark and scary on. Taken at the top of the very many stairs on a very warm day.
Spent Saturday in downtown LA hanging out with llamas at Olvera, ogling the Million Dollar Theater’s facade, and munching on fries at the Pantry Cafe.
